Terms of Use

These are the rules for using TailzIN. By creating an account you agree to them.

TailzIN is run by an individual based in Israel. Questions: [email protected].

Who can use TailzIN

You need to be at least 13. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian has to give you permission first, and we will ask you to confirm they have.

TailzIN is currently invite-only. An invite is for you, and it works once.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has it. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

One person, one account. Do not impersonate anybody, and do not sign up with a username that pretends to be an airline or an official body — some names are reserved for exactly that reason.

Your photographs

Your photographs stay yours. Uploading one does not give us ownership of it.

What you do give us is permission to store your photograph, process it, add a watermark if you asked for one, and display it on TailzIN. That is what publishing means here. The permission lasts as long as the photo does: delete the spot, or delete your account, and it ends.

We never share, sell or give away the original file you upload. It is stored privately, it is never served to anyone else, and only you can download it. If that ever changes, we will say so here before it does, not afterwards.

Only upload photographs you took. Not a friend's, not one from an airline's press pack, not one you found. If somebody tells us you have published their photograph, we will take it down.

Be aware of what publishing means: a published photo is public, and anyone can see it and save the version we display. Turning off the watermark does not change that.

What you may not do

• Sexually exploit, abuse or endanger a child, in any way. This is absolute and it is set out in full in our Child Safety Standards — child sexual abuse material, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or sexualising a minor anywhere on TailzIN, including in captions, comments, messages and profile text. There is no artistic or documentary exception. An account that does any of this is closed, and reported to the authorities.
• Publish somebody else's photographs as your own.
• Harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or post content designed to do that.
• Deliberately misidentify an aircraft, or fill the record with things you know to be wrong. The point of this site is that the data is trustworthy.
• Scrape the site, or use automated tools to collect photographs or profiles in bulk.
• Try to get at other people's private data, or at the original files behind their photos.
• Publish anything illegal, or anything you were told not to publish — some airfields and some airframes come with restrictions, and it is your job to know them.

Moderation

Anyone can report a photo, a comment or an account. We look at reports and we act on them.

Reports of child sexual abuse or exploitation go to the front of the queue, ahead of everything else, and are handled as described in our Child Safety Standards. You do not need an account to report one; [email protected] reaches us directly.

If you break these rules we may remove what you posted, suspend your account temporarily, or close it permanently. How serious the response is depends on what happened. We will tell you what we did and why, and you can reply to [email protected] if you think we got it wrong.

We may also remove content, without you having broken any rule, if we are required to.

Leaving

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Everything you posted comes down immediately, and after 90 days it is permanently gone. The Privacy Policy explains the timing in detail.

What TailzIN is, and is not

TailzIN is in beta. It is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available, that it will not lose data, or that the aircraft information beside a photograph is correct — much of that comes from third parties and from other spotters, and some of it will be wrong.

Do not rely on TailzIN for anything that matters operationally. It is a place to share photographs.

Features may change or disappear, and the service itself may end. If it does, we will give you notice and a way to get your photographs out.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will ask you to read and agree to them the next time you sign in. Minor corrections will not interrupt you.

If you do not agree to a change, delete your account — that is the remedy, and it takes your photographs with you.
